All Is One Foundation
About us

Selfless service
to all.

All is One Foundation is a registered Canadian charity. Founded in 2009, our mission is to take the Sikh teachings of seva and langar to those who need it most.

Our story

How we got here

Seventeen years of seva, told in the order it happened.

  1. 2009

    A foundation begins

All is One Foundation is registered as a Canadian charity with one purpose: to take the Sikh teachings of seva — selfless service — and langar to those who need them most.

  2. The idea

    Inspired by langar

Langar provides free meals to all members of society, regardless of race, class, caste, religion, creed or any other false social division. Everyone sits together as equals. Our team began to ask how we could do our part for our disadvantaged brothers and sisters in Edmonton.

  3. 14 February 2014

    The Seva Food Truck

We began delivering meals to students at low-income schools in Edmonton’s inner city. Tables were set up in school gyms and we dined collectively with the students. What started monthly at Spruce Avenue School for around 300 students grew to biweekly across Spruce Avenue and Calder — and became a mentorship programme as much as a meal programme.

  4. Summer 2015

The All Is One Food Bank

Every Saturday morning, langar for around 400 people was prepared and trucked in food carriers to downtown Edmonton, where our team set up a tent and served. First outside the Bissell Centre, later at the Hope Mission Centre. The programme ran weekly for about nine months of every year.

    A pause, and a turn

Gathering limits brought the school programme to a halt. The need did not pause with it — so the work moved to grocery hampers, and to a permanent home where families could come to us.

  6. Today

    Roper Road, and beyond

The food bank serves from 4954 Roper Road, open every Sunday, alongside grocery hamper packing. Our free book distribution has reached communities across India, and the All is One app carries Guru Granth Sahib teachings in many languages — free to anyone, anywhere.

Scriptures

One God who is equally present in all. One in all, and all in One. God is not present only in some special body, place or time. One God present in all, at all places, at all times.

Universal teaching

Values that belong to all of humanity

Universal values are the shared principles that guide human behaviour across cultures, religions and nations. They remind us that despite our differences, every human being deserves dignity, care and fairness.

  • Truth

Values that belong to all of humanity, not to one community alone. They form the foundation of peaceful coexistence.

  • Compassion

Compassion encourages us to help those in need. It is what turns a belief about oneness into a meal on a table.

  • Respect

Respect teaches us to treat everyone equally, regardless of race, class, caste, religion, creed or circumstance.

  • Justice

Justice ensures that no one is left behind, and that every human being receives dignity, care and fairness.

That is why we started the All Is One Food Bank — to turn these universal values into action. Our mission is to share and serve without any discrimination, ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and care. Through this effort, we aim to create a space where humanity comes first and no one goes hungry.
